The Maze

Summer, 2014 / No. 33

Ashey’s friend Eva came over. She drew a maze

for me, full of impossible-looking obstacles, and challenged me to get through it.

I got stuck immediately. I couldn’t see a single possible path.

She seemed surprised that I couldn’t do it.

She took her turn, and drew a line through all the barriers, going straight to the end.

I asked her how she managed to get through it that way.

She told me they were just ordinary walls, and there was nothing to stop a person from climbing right over them.
